Para el invierno del 2015 yo estudiaba Historia del Arte en la Universidad del Salvador. Tenía una materia que era Historia Oriental, la cual sentía cada vez más propia. Cual colegiala recuerdo que a veces me encontraba a mi misma escribiendo su nombre en mis apuntes: Abhiram. Y sonreía. En ese mismo momento recibía su mensaje: Querés que cenemos hoy?. Por supuesto que mas que nunca andaba de punta en blanco por si nos veíamos. Una de esas noches me llevó a cenar a un restaurante Hindú de un conocido. Bajando las escaleras para ir al baño, escucho que en la cocina comentaban: Sí, sí, es Abhi, y es la primera vez que trae una chica! Al toqué los caché a todos espiandome por la puerta de la cocina. Los días y las semanas fueron pasando. Y ni uno pasaba sin que estuviésemos juntos. Uno de esos días, en sus brazos, él creyó que yo estaba dormida. Recuerdo que por lo bajo y acariciándome el pelo dijo: “You are the one” que en simple castellano significa “Tú eres la indicada”. Hagamos de cuenta que todo esto yo no la había escuchado. Por dentro, mi sentimiento era exactamente el mismo.
Llegó entonces mi 9 de Junio. Claramente para esa altura, Sofi y Magda mis amigas de toda la vida, se enteraban del Indio. La noche anterior, a las 9 de la noche, recibo un mensaje suyo preguntándome si podía pasar un ratito a saludarme. Antes de las 12, torta, regalo y flores mediante me entregó una bolsita verde. Me dijo: “la última vez que viajé a India, compré esto. Me prometí que si encontraba a la indicada se lo daría…es tuyo”.
Quien a esta altura piensa que me re hice la novela, créanme que ni yo caigo en todo lo vivido!

EASTERN STUDIES CHAP 8
It was Winter of 2015 and I was studying Art History at the University. I had this subject which was “Eastern studies”, and I started feeling it like more and more familiar. I remember writing down his name in every sheet of paper I had, like a school girl! Out ofe the blue there he was , messaging me and asking me out for dinner. One of those nights, he took me to a wonderful Hindu restaurant. On my way to the toilet I heard: “yeah, yeah, it´s Abhi…but it´s the first time he brings a girl! When I realised, 3 pair of curious Indian eyes were gazing at me through the kitchen.
Days and weeks went by, it felt like years. There was no day in which we were not together. One of days, while watching a movie, I was lying down on his arms and he thought I was sleeping. I remember him caressing my hair and telling me “You are the one”. I pretended to be asleep, but holding my smile, and the happiness bursting out of my chest, was really hard to contain.
My 9th of June came. Clearly, my two lifetime friends: Sofi and Magda were informed about my Indian boy.
The night beforeI got one of his messages wanting to wish me. Before 12 o´clock, there he was: with a cake, a bouquet of flowers and a bag with new clothes. Not only this, he gave me a tiny green bag and told me: “Last time I went to India, I bought this with the idea on mi mine that if I found “The one”, this would be hers…it´s yours”.
Ok, if so far, you are still reading this and you think this is a like a novel, believe me, I still cannot believe it!!!!
